Welcome to Nuts & Bolts with Tone. I am an ASE Certified Master Gas and Diesel Technician, working hard in this industry for over 15 years. As a flat rate tech, I've worked on just about everything gas and light truck. Nothing is greater than diagnosing and fixing a really challenging vehicle. I've learned a lot along the way and want to share that knowledge with you. On my channel I will be showing you a range of repairs from general to more difficult. I will also be showing you different diagnostic strategies, approaches as well as processes. I will also be sharing my large tool collection ranging from cheap but useful to expensive and worth it (even some that are worthless). Last, I will show you some really great tech tips that will help you out and make you more money regardless of how long you have been in the industry.

3.5 Toyota Tacoma Timing Cover RESEAL 2GR-FKS B In this video I have a 2016 Toyota Tacoma with a 3.5 2GR-FKS B engine and there is an oil leak from the timing cover area on the passenger side. Thankfully for social media I found out it was not just the timing cover and had I not posted anything on social media I would have resealed this timing cover and it would have been back because the main ...

Awesome Scan Tool Less Then 500 Bucks
Nice! I almost bought the Malco like the HVAC guys use, but sockets looks sort of thick. The Malco has flip sockets and magnet is cleanable. I guess the magnet is on the extension part. They make a set with the flip sockets SAE and a few metric and long or short extension. But that's a nice set right there. The only ball socket adaptor for using a socket on an impact driver I got that holds up is the Snap-on.
Dude did not change his oil
Nope
Organise, inspect, clean and sharpen everything you've got, chances are you'll either find tools you forgot about, realise something needs replacing or tossing entirely. Also dont forget about the Y axis, you can usually condense more than you realise, up to a certain point
Great channel btw subbed. Doing a 6.7 upper pan job today.
I like to just undo my cab bolts and jack the nose like 3 inches let's you just pull the fuel cooler and elbow and you can swing in to get those rear facing bolts. 6.4s are tough I own one with 450k on her
I'm working on a 2016 kia soul+, and looking everywhere for the relay for the compressor clutch! No one has even reference a relay! Only fuses!
Cabinets for sure, unless you need to roll them across the shop. Also, file Cabinets, commercial types, auction items. Super affordable. Keep an eye open
I think you are supposed to donate all of the extra tools to me. I have plenty of room in my garage to add to my already huge collection.
Praise the Lord my brother! I’m gonna say tool cabinets, there’s so much you can do with them especially with adjustable shelves
I recently purchased the Blue-Point 5 row metal socket tray from Snap-on. Got to order some more 3/8 pegs Amazon has them, it's the same as Mechanic Time Savers with ball and twist lock. I got both the Mac Torx and the hex Torx set in blow molded cases on it, as well 2 sets of the impact RBRT sets all on that one tray. That's 3.5 blow molded trays that goes in the trash 🗑️ Most all compete sets of Torx Hex and RBRT Torx and Hex all on that one tray. Ok it's pricey but it works. Get rid of all the blow molded cases you can. Get the tools out so you can actually use them. If you don't, then you could easily fill up an 84 inch Epiq with what you already have.
Bro, you wanna know the trick in the south go get yourself a nonworking fridge paint that thing and hang some tool hangers inside you got drawers for smalls and enough space for everything! Thank me later… best part about them. You can sometimes get them for free.🤯
Or just stick a magnet on ur normal one
Why is everyone disassembling the intake cam to change the seal? I took that gear off with the 4 Allen head from the rear and changed the seal that way
Oh ok
@@NutsandBoltswithTone it seems like the gear won’t go passed the 3 fingers in the middle of the cam but if you wiggle it the right way it comes right off - saves a lot of time if you do it again

Did you walnut blast that intake manifold?
No
Great way to ease back into the job - with a straightforward diag. Glad you’re feeling better.
Thank you Steve I appreciate you.
Do you know how to test that def pump to confirm if is faulty?
There are tests for the Def pump but not the level sender
Step 1 is being sure the solenoid/relay energizes. Step 2 is verify it actually functions as intended. A video showing how to apply vacuum to verify function could be interesting.
Thank you and that is a good idea
Hey, boats and nuts. I have a question. If you don't mind give me some. In put on, I have a 2008 F250. Bald is new with only 76000 miles open mouth when I accelerate. I hear a squeaking sound through my air vents. Any clue what that might would be thanks.
Not sure
Hey, nuts and bolts. I want to give you an update on my 64 with less than 80000 Miles and I told you I was hearing a squirrel in noise. Sound like coming through my vents. Well I found out what it was. I left my cap off the water reservoir. Put the cap back on no more noise. Thanks for getting right back to me.Have a good one.

I really like your videos !!!Thank you so much
Thank you
I use both hand held and headlamp depending on the job to perform BUT either way I use Streamlight Stinger and Protac Headlamp rechargable.
Very nice, I used the Stinger for about 15 years of my career. First real tool from the tool truck I bought was the Stinger.
Awesome video. Thank you.
Thank you too!
Amazing video Thank you Keep em coming!!!
Thank you! Will do!
Lick your finger and hold it on the port for 10-15 seconds for the vacuum to build up ! Just don't tap it because if the vacuum leak is small you will never know so leave your finger there for a while to feel the suction get stronger and stronger then you know the valve is defective.
Kam reset jr it’s on your new
More parts to break! Internal? Are you crazy? Stop it.
I dont I see alot of vids out there of techs showing how to lift cab off the frame, it maybe a good video todo. Great content as always.
Thank you that is a good idea
Excellently Executed video, in all aspects. If I were to do a video on this, this video is exactly how I would try for it to turn out. Clear, direct, quick about the special tools used and using them properly. I was dreading this job. Was leaning towards getting a remand engine. Now I’m thinking about saving someone thousands of dollars by removing the heads for machine shop work. Thanks for this, hope you have others like it I’ll need someday. 👍🏼 👍🏼
Thank you so much that is very nice to hear. If you need any help hit me up on Instagram. Good luck.
That tool came out 25 years ago.
Torque something properly. Adjust properly based on the distance. Math the mathing if you are serious about doing things to spec, neurotic, or OCD. If I were a Pro I would have a set, and. Backup in just in case.
Demonstration
Also, does anyone know if a snap-on OBDll will read the voltage on the hybrid? I can't figure out how to get it to do that.
If hybrid is run down a bit, will repeating the 8 minute jump start process repeatedly increase the hybrid's voltage?
I do not think so
Headlamp led
Just did heater hoses on an Escalade at the plastic tee. After I got done I invented a tool in my head. Welp now I’ll order it 😂
Great to hear.
Hey you literally fixed a problem my sports car shop and another shop couldn’t do in 2 mins and they had my Car for 2 weeks! Wild
very nice
If the turbos aren’t getting coolant, obviously I’m sure that’s a problem as well, correct. My coolant line was crimped and I keep blowing my driver side turbo.?
Yes the coolant is there to cool the turbo and the oil is for lubricating it.
You end up needing them all at once.
Phone lights all ya ever really need
Damn good video on this crossover pipe.
Thank you
Headlight always. I do roadside repair for tractor trailer, and I wouldn't be able to work without it. As a result, I use a headlamp anytime I work on anything.
I have used this on a 2005 Matrix and couldn't find the actuation tests and some other tests said 'not supported'. I wonder if I had the same issue with the setup with the Euopean interface and didn't notice. I will go back and see if that's what happened, select the USA version and try again. Thanks for pointing that out!
Still have that same Streamlight. Has wagon wheel effect aka flicker that you can't see unless you look at something spinning like alternator belts motor etc. I still use this light but I don't think it is good to look at flickering or rhythmic lights for long periods. I will compare it to the new Snap-on headband light. I can only guess this Streamlight headlight is cycling the light on and off very fast to conserve battery, or it's the frequency of the light itself. Other than that, it seems to be a good work light. So how bad is it? It's like looking at the engine spinning with a timing light! Almost that bad, but looking at stationary objects, you never notice anything.
But wouldn't that change the end torque? It would be adding leverage past the torque wrench.
Oh wtf I just did my control arms, bloody hell. This wouldve saved me 2 hrs.
Im wondering why is that soot collecting there?
Because it's egr
Why is EGR not using clean exhaust? Exemple, from after the catalytic converter and dpf filter?
I need to have this done. Are you available to do this repair? I hope that you are local. How far are you from Los Angeles?
I am in Sacramento
@@NutsandBoltswithTone - do you know anyone in the L.A. area who can do that repair for me?
What did you mean by “centering the rack on the ground”??????
Put vice grips on center shaft, make sure it turns same amount of time both ways of not you need to get it centered
Thanks sir! Loved it. Doing this now...
Awesome, good luck and thanks.
